Fordham’s slightly anthropomorphic Ram mascot layers somewhat awkwardly over a classic block F in the university’s sports logomark. There’s no shortage of ram sports teams with imposing horned mascots, but (save for the controversial LA Rams) few try to combine a curly ram horn with any sort of text.
A combined mark has its benefits, however — chief among them, a pivot to a subtle, symbolic nod to Fordham’s mascot.
Neither overly cartoon-y nor uncomfortably realistic, a symbolic approach would future-proof against changing illustration styles in the world of sports mascots.
Left: a Marymount College throwback colorway, just for fun.
